Last Surviving Members of the 26th?

26th Group JPEG

Photo courtesy of Carol Knox whose
GG Grandfather was Pvt. Henry W. Conner of Co. A.
She remembers her Grandfather showing the picture to
her as a child and telling her that these men fought with
his grandfather in the Civil War. Family tradition has it
that these were the last surviving members of the 26th.
Since many members of the 26th moved out of state, it is
doubtful these are the last living members of the entire
regiment. However, they could be the last surviving members
of the 26th who resided in a certain locale.

The fourth man from the left is Louis Thomas Yarbrough
of Company E. Thanks to his GG Grandson,
Benjamin F. Yarber, for the identification!
